Quarry and concrete portfolio up for grabs in north-west NSW
A portfolio of quarrying and concrete assets have been put on sale by Johnstone Concrete & Landscape supplies in Narrabri, New South Wales, including the 500,000 tonne per annum Wave Hill Quarry.
Listed by InSitu Advisory and Rural Property NSW, the expressions of interest campaign will close on Monday, 13 September at 4pm.
Wave Hill Quarry is one of four assets in the portfolio which also includes Maules Creek Quarry, Cains Crossing Quarry and two concrete batching plant and depot operations.
A joint statement from the representing agents, Todd Clark and Michael Guest – from InSitu and Rural Property, respectively – agreed whoever bought the property would be walking into the industry at a great time.
“The portfolio allows an incoming purchaser instant scale in one of NSW’s booming infrastructure and construction markets,” Clark said. “Major projects including the ARTC (Australian Rail Track Corporation) Inland Rail and Newell Highway Upgrade will require significant amounts of construction material, of which this portfolio is strategically located to be able to provide immediately and into the future.”
The quarries hold proven resources of hard rock, sand and gravel – all highly suited to concrete and construction applications.
Wave Hill comes with a recently revised development approval for the resource, as well as fixed and mobile crushing and screening plant, plus dump trucks, excavators, and a water truck.
Potential projects which these assets are positioned to provide for include the ARTC Inland Rail, Newell Highway upgrade and the Gunnedah coal markets.
